 how do I apply?

When should I apply?

Prospective students can apply for the e-Learning in Business and Management courses at any time throughout the year. It is preferable to give at least 2 months notice of your intention to join the course so that we can ensure that you receive all the joining documentation in plenty of time.

For a chart detailing the route from application to graduation including module-by-module course content click here.

How do I apply?

Please request an application form online. Once downloaded, complete the form and return to the address provided.

Can I receive credits for prior learning or experience?

Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning and Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APL) credits are considered on an individual basis for all new entrants to the course. Should you receive APL credits, you will be exempt from one or more units/modules.

There are APL pages within the application form. Each application is then considered by the Course Leader and the decision is relayed to the applicant by the Course Administrator. Further detail on the general precedents can be obtained by contacting the Course Administrator, Lianne Hutchings at Bournemouth University on 01202 965474.

When applying for APL please ensure that any documentation relating to earlier study is attached to the application form. This could include copies of certificates, details of units/modules studied within qualifications, or intended learning outcomes of earlier study. If sufficient information is not included to enable a decision to be made, you will be requested for further documentation/evidence.

How long can I expect to wait before hearing a decision?

A decision with regard to your admission onto the course will usually be relayed to you within 2 weeks of receipt of the application at the University.

A decision on the APL you have been granted may take longer than 2 weeks depending upon its complexity and whether your particular qualifications / experience have been considered previously.
